Have you bought Ray-Ban glasses and are impressed by the low price? Do you suspect that your glasses may be fake?
We encounter these problems on a daily basis because if your model is a counterfeit it will not be possible to install our replacement parts in your glasses. There are several methods you can use to verify if your Ray-Ban glasses are authentic or not. Here we are going to detail step by step features to notice that your glasses are counterfeit.
Logos engraved on lenses
All Ray-Ban glasses have two logos engraved on their lenses.
- The Ray-Ban logo in white on the right lens. This logo is usually in white color and is another of the most distinctive elements of the brand’s sunglasses. It is important to note that this logo is one of the most counterfeited, as it is very easy to imitate and is one of the most recognized elements of Ray-Ban sunglasses. If you find any kind of logo other than the Ray-Ban logo on the right lens of your sunglasses, it is most likely a counterfeit. Some of the most common logos found on fakes are “Ray-Beri” or “Ray-Bon”, so it is important to be aware of these details to avoid falling into the counterfeit trap.

- The RB logo: is one of the easiest ways to verify the authenticity of your Ray-Ban sunglasses. It is the initials of the brand and it is engraved on all the left lenses of the brand’s original sunglasses. It is important to note that this logo is laser engraved, so it is very difficult to imitate. Many of our customers mistake this logo for a scratch or damage to the lenses, but it is actually a very precise laser engraving that is only found on original Ray-Ban sunglasses. So if you want to verify the authenticity of your sunglasses, one of the things you should do is look for the laser etched RB logo on the left lens.

Other engravings on the original lenses:
- Ray-Ban P: If you have Ray-Ban sunglasses with polarized lenses, another element you should look for to verify its authenticity is the “Ray-Ban P” logo. This logo is the identifier of the brand’s polarized lenses and is only found on original Ray-Ban sunglasses with polarized lenses. It is important to note that many knockoffs also offer polarized lenses, but they are unlikely to include the “Ray-Ban P” logo as it is an exclusive element of the brand’s original sunglasses. So if you want to make sure that your Ray-Ban sunglasses with polarized lenses are original, one of the things you should do is look for the “Ray-Ban P” logo on them.

- CHROMANCE: This logo is another element to look for if you have Ray-Ban sunglasses with lenses of this type. This logo is engraved on the bottom of the left lens and is only found on the brand’s Chromance models. Chromance lenses are a special Ray-Ban treatment that provides sharper and brighter colors, making them ideal for outdoor activities and sports.

Hinges
One of the most effective ways to verify the authenticity of your Ray-Ban sunglasses is to examine the hinges. Ray-Ban sunglasses hinges are very unique and high quality, and most fakes fail to mimic this part properly. Usually, the hinges of original Ray-Ban sunglasses are made of metal and have a very specific design that makes them very resistant and durable. If you have doubts about the authenticity of your sunglasses, one of the things you should do is to examine the hinges and check if they have a similar quality and design as the original Ray-Ban sunglasses. If you find any kind of flaw or defect in the hinges, it is most likely a counterfeit.

Serial number
The original Ray-Ban glasses have a serial number that always has the same shape and with which you can check the authenticity.
- The serial number: Original Ray-Ban sunglasses usually have a serial number engraved on them, which always has the same shape and is composed of several letters and numbers. It is important to note that the serial number of original Ray-Ban sunglasses is always preceded by the initials “RB”. If you do not find this number or if it does not meet this condition, it is very likely that it is a counterfeit.
- Check the size of the lenses: Another way to verify the authenticity of your Ray-Ban sunglasses is to compare the size of the lenses with that of the original models. It is important to note that the lens size of original Ray-Ban sunglasses is usually very specific and corresponds to the size of the original models. If you find a difference between the size of the lenses of your sunglasses and the lenses of the original models, it is very likely that it is a counterfeit.
- Check the size of the temples: Another way to verify the authenticity of your Ray-Ban sunglasses is to examine the size of the temples. The temple size of original Ray-Ban models is usually (if not always) a multiple of 5. Therefore, if you have a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses with a temple size that is not a multiple of 5, it is most likely a counterfeit. It is important to keep in mind that the size of the temples can also vary depending on the model of sunglasses you have, so it is important to compare it with the size of the temples of the original models.

Materials
Another way to verify the authenticity of your Ray-Ban sunglasses is to examine the materials they are made of. Genuine Ray-Ban sunglasses usually use high quality and durable materials, such as metal and acetate. In addition, it is important to note that original Ray-Ban sunglasses usually have a very refined and detailed finish, so it is important to pay attention to these details to verify the authenticity of your sunglasses.
Frames
- Paste: Ray-Ban frames are a popular choice of sunglasses brand that are made of plastic and are very lightweight and comfortable to wear. Paste frames tend to be more durable and sturdy than metal frames, and are ideal for those looking for a more casual and casual style. In addition, Ray-Ban frames are often priced more affordably than metal frames, making them an attractive option for those looking for an affordable pair of sunglasses. Ray-Ban frames often come in a wide variety of colors and styles, making them ideal for all types of occasions and personal tastes.
- Acetate: If your glasses are made of acetate material, you will notice that they are heavier and have some soft scratches on the surface. This denotes that it has been polished to a shine.
- Injected
- Metal
- Fiberglass

Lens material
Check the material of your lenses. This is very important. For example if your glasses have glass lenses in the original features on the manufacturer’s page your lenses should also be made of glass.
Manufacturer
The current manufacturer and owner of the Ray-Ban brand is Luxottica and the former is Bausch and Lomb. This is very important as sometimes counterfeits do not take this into account. Some examples
Some fakes are engraved with the actual RB-XXXX nomenclature and then the name B&L. This is a clear counterfeit. An RB model cannot be Bausch and Lomb.

In this post, we have mentioned to you some ways to verify the authenticity of Ray-Ban sunglasses, such as examining the RB logo laser engraved on the left lens, looking for the brand logo in white color on the right lens, looking for the “CHROMANCE” logo engraved on the left lens of the Chromance models, examining the hinges and comparing the size of the lenses and temples with those of the original models. It is important to keep in mind that these are just some of the most common and frequent ways to verify the authenticity of Ray-Ban sunglasses, and that it can be difficult to identify whether a pair of sunglasses is original or not if you are not used to doing so on a day-to-day basis. For this reason, if you have any doubts about the authenticity of your Ray-Ban sunglasses, do not hesitate to contact our support team, who will be happy to help you and resolve any doubts or questions you may have.

Hello. I was given a pair of vintage Ray-Ban aviator or cat eye style. They are older and only have pat. pend. France with crown on the left and Bausch & Lomb on the other. Only other marking is on the right lens – Ray-Ban 50. Any ideas what these would be or how I could find the value?
Hello! I’m sorry, I really can’t help you with this.
Hi….. I was going to have prescription lenses put in my original Bauch&Lomb aviator glasses. The optometrist said that I should not do that because these could be collectors. They have the BL etched into the lens. They are the : G-15 with original nose pads and the pearl spacer between the lens. I also have the original case. No scratches/ excellent condition.made in the USA.
Any thoughts?
Hello
Bausch & Lomb is the former owner and manufacturer of Ray-Ban. Good glasses and lenses. You can keep the original lenses and add your prescription.
Thank you so much!
Have a great day 😊
Hai,
Could you please check below and confirm the below is original or not
RB 3675 9000/3F 58□14 135 2N
Hello,
Regarding the Ray-Ban model **RB 3675 9000/3F 58[]14 135 2N**, it’s important to note that **serial numbers alone are not enough to verify authenticity**. However, I can guide you on what these markings typically mean:
– RB 3675: This is the model number, which refers to a specific design in the Ray-Ban catalog.
– 9000/3F: This refers to the frame and lens color code. The “9000” is the frame color, and “3F” indicates the lens color or type.
– 58[]14: This indicates the lens size (58 mm) and the bridge width (14 mm). These measurements should match the specifications of the genuine Ray-Ban model.
– 135: This is the temple length, which also should correspond to the model’s specifications.
– 2N: Refers to the lens category. The “2” indicates the level of sun protection, and the “N” means the lenses are not polarized.
### To fully confirm authenticity, I recommend checking the following:
1. Build quality: Genuine Ray-Bans have precise, high-quality construction. Look for sturdy materials and smooth hinges.
2. Logos and markings: Check for the “Ray-Ban” logo etched into the lens and the “RB” logo on the nose pads (if applicable).
3. Packaging: Genuine Ray-Bans come in high-quality packaging with a branded case, cleaning cloth, and proper documentation.
If you’re still unsure, you can take the sunglasses to an authorized Ray-Ban retailer or use their online verification service to confirm authenticity.
Hi, I already posted a comment but accidentally put in the wrong model name. It was supposed to be Mega Hawkeye I wrote Mega Wayfarer by accident.
Thanks!
Hi, I ordered Ray-Ban Mega Wayfarer online from ASOS. The thing I noticed is that one of the handles makes a creaky sound when opening and closing plus there is no ‘Made in Italy’ or ‘Made in China’ written. The only writing is RB0298S 901/31 53-21 145 3N plus on the other side Ray-Ban T CE UKCA(one above the other). I really like the model but they are too expensive to be fake. Looking forward to your help.
Thank you,
Andrea
