RB3857 lens replacement

What you need

• A 3-in-1 precision screwdriver; we will use the flat tip.
• Fine tweezers (optional) to handle the screw.
• A soft cloth and a light-colored, uncluttered surface, so you don’t lose anything.

How to replace the RB3857 lenses step by step

1. Get the screwdriver ready. Take the 3-in-1 screwdriver and use the flat tip.
2. Locate screw 82. It is the screw closest to the lens.
3. Carefully unscrew the screw. Do this over the cloth: the screw is very small and, once it is out, the arm can fall off.
4. Remove the old lens. Take it out of the rim without forcing it.
5. Fit the new lens. Check that it sits in the rim’s groove all the way around and is the right way round.
6. Refit the screw and arm. Put the arm back in position and reinsert the screw.
7. Tighten gently. The lens should be held firmly and the arm should open and close without any play.

• Losing the screw. It is so small that it disappears easily. Take your time and work on a light-colored surface.
