Installing Ray-Ban RB2188 lenses
Before installation, check the inside of the temple and confirm that your frame is Ray-Ban RB2188 size 53. Never force a lens into a frame if the model or size does not match.
The RB2188 is an acetate frame, so installation is normally done by pressure fitting. Gentle, even warmth can help the acetate become slightly more flexible. Do not overheat the frame or apply heat directly for too long.
Start by seating one part of the lens into the inner groove, then press the rest in gradually while supporting the frame. Avoid metal tools against the glass, as they can chip the lens or mark the acetate.
If you feel too much resistance or have never fitted lenses into acetate frames, visit an optical store. Professional fitting is the safest way to protect both the frame and the lenses.
