How to install Ray-Ban RB3689 lenses
Before installation, check the engraving inside the temple: the model must be RB3689 and the size must match your order, 55, 58 or 62. Never try to force a lens that is only a few millimetres different.
Because this is a metal frame, installation is done by carefully loosening the rim screw, removing the old lens and seating the new glass lens into the groove. Close the rim gently and make sure the lens sits evenly all around.
Do not apply heat as you would with acetate frames; here the fit depends on the metal rim closure. Acetate frames are usually fitted with gentle heat and pressure, rimless frames should be handled professionally, and folding frames require extra care around the hinges.
If the screw is stiff, the lens does not sit cleanly or you are not used to optical repairs, visit an optician. Proper fitting prevents scratches, frame marks and unwanted tension on the lens.
