Installing Ray-Ban RB4540 replacement lenses
Before fitting the lenses, check that your frame is marked RB4540 on the inside of the temple and that the selected size is correct: 50 or 54. Choosing the wrong size can result in a loose or overly tight fit.
On acetate frames, lenses are usually fitted by controlled pressure. Gentle warming, for example with lukewarm water, can help the frame flex slightly. Avoid direct excessive heat, as it may deform the frame.
Metal frames are normally opened with a screw, while rimless or special constructions should be handled professionally. Take particular care around the bridge and hinge areas.
