On Ray-Ban RB4068 sunglasses the lenses are replaced by hand and the arms with a precision screwdriver. The lens comes out when you push it from the inside of the frame and the new one is pressed in from the front; each temple is held by one screw in the hinge.

Before you start
Check that your sunglasses are an RB4068
On the inside of one temple you will see a code starting with RB4068, followed by the colour and the lens size: 60, the width of the lens in millimetres. The RB4068 is a large, strongly curved frame, so its lenses cannot be replaced with those of a similar-looking model.

What you need
- For the lenses: the new lenses, a microfibre cloth and clean hands. Nothing else.
- For the arms: the new temples, a mini precision screwdriver and a light-coloured cloth so you do not lose the screw.
How to replace the lenses on the Ray-Ban 4068
1. Remove the old lens
- Hold the frame with both hands, close to the rim you are working on.
- With your thumb, push the lens from the inside outwards, pressing near the edge and steadily.
- The lens comes out of the front. Do it over the cloth and close to the table.
- Repeat on the other side.
Careful if your lenses are original: the factory RB4068 lenses are made of mineral glass. Push evenly, without knocks, and do not drop them: they can break.
2. Fit the new lens
- Check the side: the curved surface faces outwards and the shape of the lens must match the rim.
- With the front facing you, slide the temple-side edge into the groove first.
- Press with your thumbs along the top and the bottom, moving towards the nose, while you support the rim from behind.
- Finish by pressing the corner on the nose side until the whole outline is in the groove.
3. Check the fit
Run your finger along the whole edge: no section should be outside the groove and there should be no gaps. If the lens turns, it is not seated properly. Finally, clean the lenses with the cloth.
How to replace the arms on the Ray-Ban 4068
- Open the temple and hold the frame by the front, next to the hinge.
- Remove the hinge screw with the screwdriver, turning anticlockwise, and keep it safe.
- Take off the old temple and fit the new one for the same side, with the hinge holes lined up.
- Insert the screw, turn the first few turns gently and tighten it without forcing.
- Open and close the temple: it should move with slight resistance and no play.
Common mistakes with the RB4068
- Knocking or dropping the original lenses. They are mineral glass.
- Pushing from the outside. The lens comes out of the front.
- Heating the frame or levering with tools. It is not needed and can warp the nylon or scratch the lens.
- Starting the screw at an angle. It damages the hinge thread.
- Fitting the temple on the wrong side. Look at the curve of the tip.

The original Ray-Ban 4068 replacement lenses are the brand’s own mineral glass lenses in size 60: classic G-15 green, blue and brown gradients, and green or brown polarized.
The compatible Ray-Ban 4068 replacement lenses are made of lighter polycarbonate, in classic colours, gradients, six mirrored finishes and grey photochromic (0 to 70 %, which does not become a standard sunglass lens), with optional Polarized Elite. They are not original Ray-Ban and do not carry the logo.
The prescription lenses for Ray-Ban 4068 are made in our workshop from your prescription: single vision, for distance or reading, from −6 to +6 sphere and up to −2 cylinder, clear, sun, polarized or photochromic (UltraChromic or Transitions Gen S). They ship in 3–6 working days and, as they are made to measure, cannot be returned.
Original or compatible arms for the RB4068
The original Ray-Ban 4068 arms are 130 mm long and come in black (601), havana (642), light havana (710) and matte havana (894). The compatible Ray-Ban 4068 arms are also 130 mm, in tortoise, havana or black; they are not original Ray-Ban and do not carry the logo. If you are missing a screw, ask us.

Do I need any tools to replace the RB4068 lenses?
No. The lenses are pressed in and replaced by hand. You only need a screwdriver to change the temples.
Are the original RB4068 lenses made of glass?
Yes, mineral glass. Handle them carefully when you take them out and put them in. Compatible lenses, on the other hand, are polycarbonate.
Are compatible lenses original?
No. They are made by an independent manufacturer, without the Ray-Ban logo, to fit the RB4068.
Can I get prescription lenses for my Ray-Ban 4068?
Yes, single vision lenses for distance or reading. We do not make varifocals for this model. We will ask for your prescription and pupillary distance.
What is the difference between original and compatible RB4068 lenses?
The originals are the brand’s mineral glass lenses. The compatible ones are polycarbonate, lighter and more impact resistant, in more colours, but they are not made by Ray-Ban.
